Objetives

Course designed to provide skills on survival techniques to be applied in the event you get lost at an unexpected time and in remote, wild and hostile unknown places, when you cannot receive immediate help from rescue teams or other people. To do this, you will learn how to organize and design a strategy based on an emergency plan to apply techniques based on the PENTAGON OF SURVIVAL that basically includes the Survival Psychology, Positive Mental Aptitude (P.M.A), Leadership, Teamwork, First Aid, Signaling, Shelter, Water, Food, Fire, Orientation, etc. The course begins with a theoretical class of seven (7) hours in a classroom where you will receive a 122-page handbook with the assistance of a Survival and First Aid instructors, a blackboard, Survival, Search and Rescue (S.A.R) and Orientation equipments, a parachute canopy and an audiovisual projector, among others. The practice is integrally developed during two (2) days in an extensive private terrain of woodland, place at where you will begin the interaction and adaptation in that environment to gradually acquire your first skills, taking advantage of their natural resources of the surrounding. Under completion of the training, it is probably you can experience a change of vision and perspective because you will be able to evaluate the difference between living in urban areas with their comforts and customs and how you can survive in nature for a time with the means it provides. This course is fully on SURVIVAL for EXTREME ZONES, the notions on First Aid, Orientation and Land Navigation will be taught as techniques that are part of the Survival and also, we will teach emergency procedures based on international standards of the I.C.A.O (International Civil Aviation Organization).

To start the activities in nature, the students must carry a backpack equipped with minimum and basic elements to be required (as indicated below), because you will only need to carry your own clothing, footwear, a personal survival ration (P.S.R.) to be provided and it is not allowed to carry tents, sleeping bags, insulators, canteens or pots, because during the development of the training you will learn how to boil water and cook food with natural means, to sleep in outdoor survival shelters you will build with natural resources, etc., because one of the purposes of this course is to simulate being lost and devoid of certain stuffs that can be acquired in the city and replace them by those resources you can find in nature.

Besides, a simulation exercise will be made for emergency cases through the use of two drones duly registered and will be piloted by a remote Pilot U.A.V (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), certified and authorized by the A.N.A.C (National Civil Aviation Administration in English language), through First Aid exercises in case of emergencies, location of missing people, etc. Who will guide the drones has the Commercial Helicopter Pilot License (CHPL) 21507363 (1997) who was a helicopter pilot of the Argentine Federal Police and Remote Pilot License (RPL) 21507363 (2021). It will be carried out if the time and distance allow it and therefore, the participants will be informed during the theory if it will be carried out or not.

Benefits on Survival training

To acquire the necessary technical knowledge through the experience you are going to get in the training because it is precisely in a natural wild environment where the student must be adapted to develop their personality in contact with nature for a time, depending also depending also on the group that is part of it. Among those participants who were trained at Northlatitude, some of them had had experienced several situations such as getting lost and disoriented in mountainous areas, get injured during a trekking as others too, chose to be trained before undertaking trips and crossings to different natural places in Argentina and abroad, such as in South America, Central America, North America, China, Africa, etc.,  also to make kayak trips on the Amazon river from Brazil to Venezuela, visit areas of mountains and forests of Patagonia Argentina, Canada, islands of Colombia, etc., where over time, a group of them who had been lost in a cold area of Canada, efficiently applied some of the skills learned in our courses.

Northlatitude only trains on Survival skills and this course does not enable participants to teach survival courses.

Mission

To provide teaching based on quality and international recognition with the goal you can acquire an integral training for the benefit of your needs and therefore we have the suitable human and professional resources to meet your requirements because since January of the year 2005, we`ve began our activities in the teaching of courses in Argentina and other countries in terrains like marginal jungles, woodlands, deserts, islands, cold areas terrains, etc., being that also, some members of our staff are mountaineers. We have professional expertise to provide you our professional knowledge.
