In the month of July 2018 after participating in a filming as Survival Instructor and Technical Advisor for the DISCOVERY CHANNEL international network in Argentina for the fourth time, as Director of NORTHLATITUDE, Survival and Orientation Instructor, DISCOVERY CHANNEL Survival Instructor in 2015, 2017 and 2018 and, Military Sub-Officer (R) of the Argentine Air Force, I traveled to the United States for the second time, precisely to Atlanta and Florida for two reasons, the first one was to visit the Kennedy Space Center (N.A.S.A.) where I had lunch with a former astronaut engineer to whom I asked questions related to Survival and Orientation techniques that they would apply in an emergency in a space mission as well as I personally knew the ATLANTIS space shuttle. The second reason was to take a wilderness Survival course in a woodland area (that was taught entirely in English language), which I finished satisfactorily as a student where at the end of it I was certified by the international school of survival BYRONKERNSSURVIVAL
My goal was to instruct myself in one of the best schools in that country to learn and optimize my teaching in survival skills in future survival courses that since 2005 I have been teaching at NORTHLATITUDE.
The course was taught by legendary instructor Byron Kerns, former instructor (S.E.R.E.) – Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape – of the United States Air Force and by the Sub Instructor Emmitt Wakefield, both great people and professionals from whom I learned a lot. I also want to thank to those who were my American survival mates of the course with whom we not only made a very good team work if not, I had the privilege of being chosen group leader by them. |
